You will be supporting ABB DCS, SCADA and PLCs for a wide range of industries including Datacenters, Pulp & Paper, Sugar, Cement, Metals & Mining customers. Working for an OEM, you will be designing, engineering, troubleshooting & inspecting a variety of different systems. The role has scope to grow as your skills develop and there will always be challenges to keep you engaged. Reporting to Service Manager, the role will be based in Melbourne, Australia.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers, remotely and on site. Troubleshoots complex technical issues and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
  • Have ownership for technical support cases received from customers. This includes investigating & resolving cases, escalating to your peers of to product development team and following up until resolution.
  • IT/OT setup and technical support (ESXi virtualization, Microsoft Windows Server & Domains, Network switches/firewalls, WSUS, antivirus management and system backups).
  • Perform systems inspections in accordance with service agreements, which includes control system health checks, network health checks, rolling out windows updates, antivirus updates & faultfinding.
  • Prepares all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reports work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed.
  • Proactively identifies suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and discusses them with management for changes.
  • Develop, select and apply techniques, procedures and tools, according to relevant industry standards, safety regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Assist projects team when needed, which may include software/hardware engineering, documentation, FATs, site installation and commissioning.

Your background

  • Engineering Degree majoring in Software, Mechatronics, Electronics or similar
  • Australian Working Rights.
  • Proactive & ability to multitask.
  • Excellent in analytical, problem-solving skills and able to diagnose root cause of issues, select suitable solutions to problems as well as identifying preventive actions.
  • A self-starter who is excellent in planning, organisation, time management skills and able to work well both in teams and independently.
  • Exposure to industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, Profibus, OPC and Hart).
  • Exposure to ESXi virtualization, Microsoft Windows Server & Domains, Office applications, Network switches/firewalls, WSUS, antivirus management and system backups.
  • Experience in 800xA, DCS and PLCs will be a highly regarded.
